Te Ngahere’s methodologies are driven by efficiency, effectiveness,
and our low toxicity policy. They are based on our staff’s extensive
experience in the field and streamlined from completing a large number
of projects over a considerable time frame.
Our approaches to weed control have evolved from the well-used
categories of site-led and weed-led strategies that have been dominant
within the industry for some time.
In particular the inherent complexities of multi-plant pest sites
have been broken down into sub-classes based on application methods,
herbicides used, correct timing, and the current restoration phase
which the area is in. This approach uses a spatial polygon GIS format
that allows a more targeted approach to the work programme and
quantitative analysis to monitor and improve performance.
The sub-classes that Te Ngahere have developed provide structure to
operations from initial weed control to forest protection. They also
allow parks and operations to be quantified.
