John has been actively engaged in restoration initiatives for the past fifteen years. His passion and enthusiasm is well known and respected.

His experience and thorough plant pest knowledge stands him in good stead for his role within Te Ngahere as a contract manager and overseer of two remote location teams.

John and his teams focus on work based away from the city, which take them to offshore islands, islands in the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland Regional Parks amongst other locations. These are often isolated and require living in difficult conditions.

Being qualified in Industrial Rope Access, John leads the company's Ecological Restoration abseiling team in targeting pest plants on coastal cliffs around the Auckland Region. He currently holds Advanced Growsafe and Growsafe certification, a Horticultural Science certificate and his Boatmasters.
