Te Ngahere secured a contract to manage plant pests on Rangitoto Island in 2005.
To complement the substantial quantity of physical works, improvements continue
to be made to the islands weed control programme through the more thorough exploitation
of spatial data and the availability of additional expertise from Te Ngahere.
Service requirements included:
- provision of high quality weed control
- pest plant abundance monitoring and analysis
- participation in strategic planning
- high quality data capture, storage, analysis and presentation
- production of maps

monitoring transects, spatial analysis, and remote sensing.
Utilised in the management of Rhamnus alaternus on
Rangitoto.
